2025 was not a year of big plans. It was a year of setting off.
Sometimes on two wheels, sometimes on four.
Sometimes alone with the road, sometimes together with Regine and the Vitaralino.
And often exactly where you didn’t actually want to “go” – but were simply on the road.
Early in the year: motorcycle, cold, openness
The first motorcycle tour began cool, wet in places and anything but comfortable.
But that was precisely its value.
Not every destination was accessible, not every pass was open – and that’s exactly what made it so appealing.
Bends were taken because they were there.
breaks were taken because you wanted to stop.
encounters happened casually, without expectation.
The quiet moments were particularly memorable:
alone in front of a closed pass, the view wide, the helmet still on the tank.
Summer: back on two wheels – out of desire, not defiance
When summer came, we started again.
Not to “catch up”, but because it felt right.
The same landscape suddenly seemed different: warmer, more open, more relaxed.
What was rough in spring was now allowed to be light.
Not better – just different.
And somewhere between familiar passes and new perspectives, it became clear:
It’s not about repeating a tour.
It’s about experiencing it anew.
Autumn: four-wheel drive, the Alps and being on the road together
With the Vitaralino, the focus shifted.
Less speed, more space.
More time for detours, for gravel, for conversations.
The Alps showed themselves from their broadest side:
high up on the Sommeiller, steeped in history on the Assietta, ski slopes and Mont Jafferau characterized by encounters and solidarity, rough and impressive on the LGKS.
Not everything went smoothly – and that was part of it.
Moments in which you pause for a moment, screw, laugh and carry on.
Moments that were not planned – but remain.
And at some point, quite naturally, you were standing on the Mediterranean.
Not as a destination, but as another point along the way.
In the end, there is no highlight – but a feeling
When you look back, no single pass remains.
No perfect photo.
No “that was the best day”.
What remains is this calm, deep feeling:
We did everything right – the best time was always right now.
