Actually, this would be the time when the first signs of travel preparations would start to show up around here. Routes would be planned, maps would be spread out, the Vitaralino would be slowly getting ready for the trip—and we’d probably already be wondering why we’ve once again packed way too much into way too few days.
We had already made plans for this year, too. Lots of plans, in fact. And as is often the case, we spent quite a while working out our route. But sometimes things don’t go as planned.
Unfortunately, Regine had to cancel due to illness and is currently in the hospital. So it’s clear: Our planned Pawtrail trip won’t take place this year. That’s a shame, of course. But trips can be postponed. Health cannot.
That’s why there won’t be any new stories this year about gravel roads, mountain passes, little detours, and big adventures. Right now, the only thing that matters is that Regine gets well again.
The route isn’t going anywhere. The mountains will still be there next year. And eventually, there’ll be another map on the table, with a trail marked somewhere on it, and we’ll wonder if we can really ride that way.
Until then, there’s only one goal that really matters: getting well.
Everything else can wait. Thank you for your understanding. ❤️
Stay healthy! 🍀
